Every sighting is a gift

Cahuita’s wildlife belongs to a living landscape that stretches from garden to rainforest and all the way to the Caribbean shore.

Sloths, monkeys, raccoons, coatis and tropical birds may appear around La Rana or along the trails of Cahuita National Park. Sightings are never guaranteed: season, time of day and quiet observation all make a difference.

Observe with care

Give wildlife the space to stay wild

Keep a respectful distance, never touch or feed animals and avoid surrounding them for a photograph.

Move quietly, follow park guidance and leave plants, nests and forest life exactly as you found them.
